Tunisia National Pilot Training Course, 11-13 October 2016

 

Within the framework of the POSOW II, the Regional Marine Pollution Emergency Response Centre for the Mediterranean Sea (REMPEC) in co-operation with the Agence Nationale de Protection de l’Environnement (ANPE), organized the National Pilot Training Course on Preparedness for Oil-Polluted Shoreline Clean-up and Oiled Wildlife Response, which was held in Tunis (Parc Urbain Ennahli), Tunisia, between 11 and 13 October 2016.

 

The training targeted representatives of the Civil Protection, local authorities and NGOs who could be involved, under the supervision of the competent authorities, on a voluntary basis, in oil spill response operations.

 

The main objectives of this event were to train trainees on oil-polluted shoreline assessment, oil-polluted shoreline clean-up, oil spill waste management, oil spill volunteers management, oiled wildlife response and fishermen’s support in oil spill response to strengthen local cooperation. Lecturers are the trained trainers during last TtT sessions held last April in Brest, France.
