Successful Trainings in Greece and Cyprus!
In December 2013, the last two National Pilot Trainings of the POSOW project were organised:
In Nicosia, Cyprus, the Cyprus Civil Defence, in collaboration with the Non-Govermental Organization Terra Cypria, organised a National Training on Oiled Shoreline Assessment and Cleanup, and Wildlife Response on the 6 and 7 December 2013 in Cleopatra Hotel, Nicosia. Thirty-five participants attended the training. The training targeted representatives of the Civil Protection, local authorities and NGOs who could be involved, under the supervision of the competent authorities, in voluntary basis, in oil spill response operations.
The Decentralized Administration of Crete, in collaboration with the Association for the Protection and Welfare of Wildlife (ANIMA), and the Environmental Protection Engineering S.A. organised a National Training on Oiled Shoreline Assessment and Cleanup, and Wildlife Response on the 13 and 14 December 2013 in its premises in Heraklion. Forty participants attended the course.
